Dr. Winchester Receives Gerold L. Schiebler, M.D. Advocate for Medical Students Award
Dr. David Winchester, Assistant Professor of Medicine/Cardiology, received the 2015 Gerold L. Schiebler, M.D. Advocate for Medical Students Award, which honors the outstanding service and advocacy of an FMA physician on behalf of the FMA Medical Student Section. The award was presented by UF medical student Jacob Burns, who is an MD/MBA dual degree candidate at UF. Dr. Winchester was also appointed to the FMA Council on Legislation. Other FMA committee appointments include Dr. Charles Riggs, Professor of Medicine/Hematology and Oncology, and Dr. Chris Cogle, Associate Professor of Medicine/Hematology and Oncology, who were appointed to the FMA Committee on Medical Education, Science, and Public Health.
Appointments to the FMA Board of Governors included Dr. Charles Riggs, who was appointed in the District H seat, Dr. Ashley Norse, Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine/Jacksonville, who was appointed in the District B seat, UF medical student Jacob Burns, who was appointed to the Medical Student Section board seat, and UF COM Dean Michael Good representing the Council of Florida Medical School Deans
