What is Cardiovascular Medicine?

The specialty of cardiovascular medicine focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the heart and blood vessels or the vascular system. These include: coronary artery disease, heart rhythm disorders, heart failure, congenital heart defects, heart valve disease, heart muscle disease, and disorders of the vascular system including the aorta and other vessels.
