On Thursday, September 29th, our newest physician Dr. Sid Wayangankar gave a ‘Mini Medical School’ lecture at Oak Hammock for their community members. The topic was titled – ‘TAVR – trans-catheter aortic valve replacement – the iInnovation of the decade!‘ The talk was very informative and the audience was highly engaged in the topic.
What is a TAVR? (From the American Heart Association):
This minimally invasive surgical procedure repairs the valve without removing the old, damaged valve. Instead, it wedges a replacement valve into the aortic valve’s place.
