About R. David Anderson

David Anderson, MD, MS, FACC, FSCAI, is an associate professor in the University of Florida College of Medicine cardiovascular division. Attending the Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey, to get his bachelor’s degree, he obtained his master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1986. He attended the University of Maryland to complete an internship, residency and was finally given the Chief Resident title in the Department of Medicine. In 1994, Anderson started his fellowship in the Division of Cardiology at Duke University.

Working in the cardiology division of Sarasota Memorial Hospital in the early 2000’s, he settled in Gainesville at the University of Florida College of Medicine. Anderson is currently an Associate Professor and Director of Interventional Cardiology and Cardiac Catheterization.

Anderson has received over 12 honors and awards ranging from excellence in teaching to master clinician. He has performed extensive clinical research and written numerous abstracts on coronary vascular dysfunction and other heart diseases. He has two patents- the Auto perfusion dilatation catheter and a new rapid exchange/auto perfusion angioplasty balloon catheter.
