About Calvin Choi

I am a Professor of Medicine at the University of Florida Division of Cardiovascular Medicine. I am the Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at UF Health, JAX.

My clinical expertise is in percutaneous management of complex coronary artery, structural and valvular heart diseases. I have extensive experience in coronary chronic total occlusion and TAVR, TMVR, MitraClip, mitral commissurotomy, paravalvular leak closure, patent foramen ovale closure, atrial septal defect closure, ventricular septal defect closure, alcohol septal ablation, left atrial appendage occlusion and transcatheter electrosurgery.

I earned my undergraduate degrees in electrical engineering and biology, along with my medical degree, from the University of Maryland. Additionally, I obtained a master’s in physiology from Georgetown University and a master’s in healthcare administration from the University of Florida. I completed a research fellowship at the National Institutes of Health. I also completed an internship and residency in internal medicine, followed by cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowships, at the University of Florida.

I am a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions. I have received numerous teaching and clinical service awards from the UF Department of Medicine and the UF College of Medicine. I am bi-lingual in English and Korean.
