About Ahmed Hussein

Hello, my name is Dr. Ahmed Hussein, and I am an assistant professor in the University of Florida Division of Cardiovascular Medicine. I am board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular medicine, and clinical cardiovascular electrophysiology. I specialize in treating heart arrhythmias such as tachycardias — when the heart beats too fast, as in atrial fibrillation – and bradycardias, when the heart beats too slowly.

I first became interested in heart arrhythmias during a cardiovascular fellowship training in Cairo University, Egypt where I earned my Bachelor of Medicine and a Master of Science. Following that I completed several clinical cardiac electrophysiology fellowships in the United Kingdom and in the United States including a fellowship at the University of Maryland Medical Center and at the University of Arkansas for Medical Specialties. A forefront researcher in atrial fibrillation, I completed a doctorate in cardiac electrophysiology and ablation of atrial fibrillation from the University of Liverpool in the United Kingdom.

My patient care philosophy is to accurately diagnose the underlying causes of heart arrhythmias and develop effective treatment plans to assure the best quality of life for my patients. I care for patients in the UF Health electrophysiology outpatient clinic, in the catheterization lab and in the hospital.
