About Lynda Otalvaro

Lynda Otalvaro-Orozco, MD, is an assistant professor in the division of cardiovascular medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine.

Dr. Otalvaro-Orozco earned her medical degree from Universidad Libre, School of Medicine in Cali, Colombia. She went on to complete her internship at Universidad del Valle in Cali, Colombia before moving to the United States to complete her residency in internal medicine, as well as a fellowship in Cardiovascular diseases at University of Miami Leonard Miller School of Medicine in Miami, FL.

Before coming to the University of Florida, Dr. Otalvaro-Orozco served as an adjunct assistant professor of medicine in the division of cardiovascular diseases at the University of Kentucky- Gill Heart Institute and as an adult non-invasive cardiologist in the department of cardiovascular diseases at Appalachian Regional Healthcare System. She has also been department chief in the section of internal medicine at Manchester Memorial Hospital and a board member of the American College of Cardiology Kentucky Chapter. She belongs to several professional societies, including The American College of Cardiology, Women in Cardiology, The American Society of Preventive Cardiology, National Lipid Association and the American Society of Echocardiography.
