About Eduardo Perez

My name is Dr. Eduardo J. Perez, and I am proud to join the esteemed University of Florida as an associate professor in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine.

With a dual appointment at the University of Florida-Shands Hospital and Malcolm Randall VA, my goal is to bridge academic excellence with clinical expertise.

My journey began at Ross University School of Medicine, followed by a residency in internal medicine at Cleveland Clinic Florida. I then completed several rigorous fellowships: cardiology at Cleveland Clinic Florida, interventional cardiology at the University of Massachusetts-Baystate Medical Center, and structural cardiology at the University of Connecticut-Hartford Hospital. I am currently triple board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and interventional cardiology.

During my interventional cardiology fellowship, I became proficient in contemporary complex coronary interventions, including large-bore accesses (such as Impella-supported PCIs), chronic total occlusion interventions, and IVUS/OCT-guided interventions.

I am a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a dedicated member of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography & Interventions, American Heart Association, and American College of Physicians, among others.

My clinical and research interests have focused on advanced interventional cardiology, valve interventions, and post-structural intervention pharmacotherapies.

Outside of the hospital, I enjoy outdoor activities, including sports like pickleball, playing instruments (guitar and drums), and dancing salsa. I strive to maintain a balanced and healthy lifestyle while cherishing moments with family and friends.
