World Association for Sarcoidosis and Other Granulomatous Disorders has designated UF Health as one of the first 25 Sarcoidosis Center’s of Excellence. We now share this designation with forty-one centers world-wide.
This designation refers to a multidisciplinary team including pulmonologists, cardiologists and surgeons with a shared specialized facility that has proven sustainability over years, and provides leadership, best practices, research, support and/or training for sarcoidosis patients and professionals. It should contain sarcoidosis experts in at least two different disciplines.
Sarcoidosis presents in many forms and affects people in different ways. At UF Health a multidisciplinary team evaluates patients and determines the most appropriate diagnostic testing and treatment strategies for patients suspected to have cardiac sarcoidosis.
WASOG is a unique organization. It is not tied down by geographical considerations, such as the European Respiratory Society, Japanese Thoracic Society, or the American Thoracic Society.
If you are a patient or a provider for someone with suspected cardiac sarcoidosis please call the Advanced Heart Failure clinic at 325-265-075 to arrange a consultation.
